music
on the heels of my post yesterday the purveyors of hot fuzz rock, Happy Diving are re-releasing Electric Soul Unity on green vinyl. I had this album on repeat for at least a year!

couple rock bands i really really like over the last few years. bands when i hear a song i go back and put a full album on.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever (or C.F.) - The French Press is as enjoyable now as ever
Deep Sea Diver - Billboard Heart is a triumph
Skeggs - Pick anything and enjoy

Couldn’t resist picking up this little beauty for $20. Put a new belt in but playing too fast. Gonna do some fettling and see if I can get it to the proper speed and then build a new enclosure.
Had a nice start to the weekend by “repairing” the broken track selector on my K-mart special 8-Track player. Seems like as good an excuse as any to relax to the smooth stylings of the Jackey Yoshikawa and His Blue Comets.
Silly finds today. A proper business man’s cassette folio, a Kmart 8 track player, some really interesting Edison discs, and a funky kids record/cassette player. I did falter and pick up the folio and 8track player for $20 combined.

headed out to a local flea market and picked up several cassettes for $5…can’t explain the time machine effect with enough emphasis…caused me to reach out and share with my sister…engendered a hilarious mixup of jim morrison with van morrison by the wife
Full EMO
once i was setting up a playlist for the evening and my wife saw me add Bright Eyes and she said
wow i didn’t know this was a suicide party
it still makes me laugh thinking about it….it’s also super helpful to really go full emo sometimes. ogbert the nerd do that in delightful nj spades
Staring out of his upstairs window
Trying to drown out all the screaming to Bright Eyes
Staring out of the passenger window trying to do my best
to find the bright side
Last few days has found me listening to this band a metric ton.
They are a delightful mix of Dave Smalley (from ALL/Descendants), Samiam, and east coast hardcore, ala Good Clean Fun, to my ears. If any of that is your bag check em out!
#feelslikeheaven #punk #emoLike everyone I am really bummed and I am not sure how to actually be of use. I want to be a kind helper, but I also wanna burn it all to the ground. As a result the first two songs I added to my 2026 playlist are lynkify.in/song/grat… lynkify.in/song/shit…
It’s a rainy Sunday in the PNW. Time to organize my LP’s. Took longer than anticipated and realized I had way more Bill Nelson and Paul Revere and the Raiders than I knew.

My son. while riding in the car with me the other day.
All your music is just so …. dramatic
I have never felt more seen and insulted at the same time. Viva la jeune!
Current mood….SOLIDARITY

[Lyrics taken in part from the song “Solidarity Forever” originally written by Ralph Chaplin (1915); the phrase “Ash Heaps and Millionaires” is a quote from Perfect Future’s song by the same name (2015)]
Speaking of still being good
i’m falling, in a supersonic daydream i stumble through the zero hour, hold on i’ll be right there, hold on i’ll be right there - Dave Doughman (Swearing at Motorists - I feel transparent)
Tuesday’s Pretzel Night (EP) - 1996 on the now infamous Spare Me Records
Little bit of nostalgia. Pulled out the ole Sony NW-HD3 and listening to Submission Hold a band with a message that is more important now than ever. Submission Hold-What holds back the Elephant #submissionhold #sony #networkwalkman
Sunday brunch playlist has been pretty great so far. Next up Deep Forest. A reminder that there is a benefit to seeking out and owning music so that you can be pleasantly surprised when you put it on shuffle. #plexamp
I’ve always had a soft spot for the Get Up Kids. If you were of a certain age 4 minute mile was an essential album. Matt Pryor’s distinct voice is a big part of their charm. Imagine my surprise to know he is releasing his 7th solo album. I have some catching up to do.
Been super busy as of late and seems i have totally slept on Deep Sea Diver
They are making me quite happy right now.
My favorite space wizard surprised me with my second favorite space wizard. Green Mind was a seminal album in my life, right up there with Sonic Youth’s Sister and Daydream Nation. My heart and ears are having a very nice evening!

Perfect for a day that felt like it was gonna get me. Posi vibes out to all those out there struggling. Take a listen Concierto de Aranjuez #nowlistening #jazz #vinyl

Another successful trip to grit city to find good music to play of an evening. This time we made our way to Drastic Plastic and it did not disappoint scoring a copy of Bill Nelson’s debut solo LP, along with a BeBop Deluxe Drastic Plastic promo poster, and some more Coleman Hawkins et al.
