first up is new Guidon Bear. The quirky duo, from the oh so lovely Olympia Wa, are back at it with groovy Mary Water and Pat Maley. Mary’s voice reminds me of Espadrille’s Alice Cohen. It’s always a pleasure to spend time with either of them.

oh boy, Gretchen and gang are back with another full lp. there is a certain morose comfort that comes from Chastity Belt. a weird mix sonically of Sonic Youth and....idk....something else.....whatever the special ingredient is I clearly enjoy it.

power of dreams hold some seminal memories for me. listeing to their janglefest lp immigrants, emmigrants, and me on repeat adnaseum next to dino jr, the misfits, bad religion, and bob marley in the punk house on church st. we got the boot and i got some memories. these irish lads sure knew how to pack the box with earnest and truthful tales. so very happy to see them back, if sounding very different.
